Our client, an investment fund with holdings in mid-sized companies, wanted to develop an innovation culture internally and within the entities in its portfolio. They wanted to be assisted in defining and deploying an approach to identify innovation issues and projects, which could be industrialized according to the specific context of each of the holdings.
As the project was initiated by an investment fund, one of the challenges was to get the participants to adhere to the approach with the right capacity to take a step back from the daily life of the company.
Keyrus Management implemented an approach based on design thinking methods to identify priority innovation areas and issues. The approach was deployed in two stages: • a first series of ideation workshops with the fund's teams • a more in-depth investigation of the avenues with the managers in order to specify the projects and the implementation trajectory The deliverables associated with the process are • Impact matrix of the diagnostics • Use case files detailing the associated innovation projects • Prioritization grid for initiatives and risk matrix • Innovation roadmap and implementation methods • Procedures for industrializing the approach across the entire portfolio
The approach has helped to create an innovation dynamic within the investment fund's teams, strengthening and enriching the dialogue with its investments, particularly around new issues and performance criteria such as CSR. For the shareholding, the approach provides a lever for innovation for managers in the construction and adoption of the company's transformation ambitions based on operational and concrete actions.
